The tech jobs market is not what it used to be. You might be feeling stressed about finding a job, or you want to keep your skills up to date to prevent losing a job. Or maybe you're working on a corporate exit strategy and want to build your own software product.
Whatever your reason for wanting to build a project, I'm confident that this program can be the bridge to take you from where you are in your software development journey to your desired state.
CodeCompass Academy is a software development career accelerator program where you'll develop a fully functional Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for your software idea. Regardless of whether you're considering attending a coding bootcamp, taking an online course, advancing to the next level in your software development career, or starting your own side hustle, this course is for you. Together we’ll refine your ideas and build the first version of your product - building a deeper technical understanding and confidence along the way.
What’s Holding You Back?About Me
Hi, I’m Joey Pedicini, a start-up CTO, Ex-lead frontend engineer on the Amazon Health - One Medical team, and tech career coach. My mission is to bring more humanity into the tech world. My coaching goes beyond just teaching code; it's about empowering you to master your mindset, develop a personalized growth plan, and build the technical and personal skills needed to build a fully functional product and achieve your career goals.
I have always had a passion for education and teaching. I taught a high school computer science class through the Microsoft Teals program, I've volunteered at after school coding clubs, and I was a mentor at a coding bootcamp. I have taken all of these experiences and combined them with my passion to develop this coaching program.
My methodology revolves around MVP (minimum viable product) development. Whether you are trying to advance your career or build and sell your own software product, the methodology is the same. You’ll learn all the skills required to build a high quality, scalable MVP.
This program is specifically geared toward someone who has some basic level of software development experience but maybe lacks the deep understanding and confidence to be able to build a software product end-to-end.
I truly look forward to learning about you and helping you reach your career goals by building a project that is exciting to you!
What we will cover in this program:
💡 Step 1: Idea Generation
In this step, you will select an idea you're passionate about and eager to work on.
📝 Step 2: Define the Problem Statement and MVP Scope
During this phase, articulate a compelling problem statement. Research existing solutions and identify their shortcomings, which your solution aims to address.
☑️ Step 3: Create User Stories and UI Mocks
Learn to write effective user stories, prioritize them, and ensure they align with the problem statement. Then, produce UI mocks that support the user stories.
🏗️ Step 4: Set up Infrastructure and Project Scaffolding
Decide on the technology stack, deploy the project, establish continuous deployment, and generate the necessary pages and modules.
🧑💻 Step 5: Build the MVP
Reference your user stories and UI mocks to implement features for the Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
